$55,700 IN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED TO SENIORS

Through its generous scholarship sponsors, donors and fundraising efforts the Foundation was proud to award 65 scholarships totaling $55,700 to deserving seniors of Levy County Schools. CAPITAL CITY BANK CONTINUES TO SUPPORT EDUCATION

The Suncoast Credit Union continues to support the Foundation and the Levy County Schools with a $10,500 grant for 2016/17.  These funds are allocated to classroom grants, our Grants for Great Ideas Program and our STEM Education programs. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO STUFF THE BUS FOR YOUR LEVY COUNTY SCHOOLS

STUFF THE BUS is a project of the Foundation collecting school supplies for Levy County Students.  All supplies donated remain in the community where collected and is distributed to students through the schools.

The event is scheduled for:

YANKEETOWN, Saturday, July 23rd  from 9am to 3 pm at the Community Center.

For all other communities the event will be Saturday, August 6th 9am to 3pm at the following locations:

BRONSON, Dollar General

WILLISTON, Walgreens

CHIEFLAND, Walmart

CEDAR KEY, Dollar General

A sample of the supplies needed is pens, pencils, erasers, colored pencils, paper, pocket folders, 1″three ring binders; crayons, markers, scissors, glue, tissue, hand soap & sanitizer, spiral notebooks, composition books, back packs, calculators, rulers, index cards.

Cash donations are also welcome at these sites or send to PO Box 1386 Bronson FL 32621. Please indicate the community you would like the supplies donated.

Funds from their grants have provided opportunities for science field trips along with $1500 in water testing equipment for students to enjoy hands-on experiences in their science classes.

They have supported our Chrome Book Library Project by providing $4,000 to purchase the Joyce Bullock Elementary books and cart being rolled out at the beginning of the 2016/17 school year.

DUKE ENERGY AWARDS THE FOUNDATION $10,000 GRANT FOR 2016/17

Duke Energy awards the Levy County Schools Foundation a grant for $10,000. These funds will support middle school STEM Education, Career & Technical Education and provide scholarships to our seniors.

The support of our Corporate Sponsors is vital to the Foundation and it’s efforts to support Levy County education.
