13th Annual STARS Gala Set for February 2

The Levy County Schools Foundation (LCSF) will be hosting its annual Gala on Saturday, February 2, 2013. The event will take place at 6:00 p.m., (doors open at 5:30) at the Bronson High School. The STARS Gala (Students, Teachers, and Respected Supporters) -formerly known as the Superintendent’s Gala, is the Foundation’s premier fundraising event. For the Levy County Schools Foundation, a not-for-profit organization established in 1989 to support Levy County schools, this event has become a Levy County tradition which provides an opportunity for members of the business community, civic leaders, and local residents to gather in support of local education. An exciting evening is planned with a wonderful meal, exceptional student entertainment, door prizes, a silent auction, and recognition of the Foundation’s Alumni of the Year. The Gala therne this year is Traditions For Education.

Superintendent Bob Hastings, who will also serve as emcee for the evening, had this to say “The Gala not only raises funds, but also showcases the talent of our students, and highlights the generous and continuing support of so many corporate and small business partners, as well as local residents who want to insure our students’ academic success.”

The past twelve Galas have raised more than $120,000 to support a variety of education-related initiatives and help the Foundation expand its mission. The proceeds of the 2013 Gala will help the Foundation support the LCSF Levy County Scholarship Program, along with 0ther projects including: literacy initiatives, classroom and school grants, teacher, staff and volunteer recognition, supplemental support of vocational, career, and technical education, STEM initiatives, tutoring and mentoring programs.
The Foundation has established three contribution levels for the STARS Gala. All patronss will be recognized at the event. The levels are:
